do you have a passion for
composting, recycling and all things zero waste?
did you know? NCGA is on the FOREFRONT of farmers market zero waste programs.
Our farmers and food court businesses take pride in our commitment to environmental responsibility. We have cut our own use of non-compostables and are set to unveil a whole new level of responsibility with even more compostables this year.
Now is the time to jump on the team! We need you!
We are now taking applications for volunteer Zero Waste Lead(s) for the 2019 Arcata Plaza farmers market main season (April 6- Nov 23rd). Please apply by March 22nd.
The Zero Waste Lead position can be one person or a team of two. The main role for the Lead(s) is to recruit and schedule the volunteer Zero Waste team that coordinates the weekly compost, recycle system at market. There can also be many other opportunities for this role to get involved in the program on a broader scale. This position is unpaid, but can be formalized into an internship or count for credit hours for a course, depending on your needs and what makes sense.
thank you for attending our Community meeting on Feb 27th!
We had a great meeting with representatives from the city of Arcata, Arcata Main Street and downtown businesses along with NCGA member farmers and businesses. Our thorough discussion led to new ideas and new potential partnerships. We we welcome continual feedback on the proposal below.
