Thank you for your interest in participating in our farmers’ markets!
The mission of our markets is to provide opportunities for local farmers to market their goods directly to consumers, as well as free educational opportunities for the community.
We happily provide space for local non-profits (state or federally recognized) and public service agencies to provide educational information and promote local events, however our markets are not fundraising opportunities for nonprofits. No donation collection or sales of any kind are allowed, although free promotional items are permissible.

- You must bring all of your own materials including tables and chairs.
- If you would like to bring a canopy please do not put stakes in the grass (at the Arcata Plaza specifically).
- Tabling space is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so please plan accordingly.
- Your booth must adhere to NCGA's Zero Waste Policy and therefore may not hand out any single use plastics (like water bottles, sample cups, utensils)
- You may not distribute any item that competes with items being sold at the market
- Please note that Arcata off-plaza markets for special events (Kinetics Sculpture Race, Oysterfest, North Country Fair) do not have space to accommodate tablers.
NCGA members want our markets to be an open, inclusive space, so no political or religious messaging should be shared at your booth.
See our full Code of Conduct Policy below - for both tablers and demonstrators.
Other health department and Certified Farmers’ Market policies also apply.

Code of Conduct PolicyAt NCGA we fully support freedom of speech for all and encourage community members of all opinions to appropriately exercise these freedoms at our farmers’ markets, however, we ask that all individuals respect this policy that NCGA’s members have created:
NCGA events have a policy of Zero Tolerance for any Hate Speech. Hate Speech is: Speech that demeans on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, age, disability, or any other similar ground is hateful. This includes anti-gay or anti-trans language. Anyone who engages in hateful speech or distributes hateful materials will be asked to leave the event. This policy allows for the sharing of messaging that is not political, religious, and does not negatively impact others. Our vendors and staff do our best to cultivate a space that is welcoming and comfortable for everyone. Members of the NCGA are small, local businesses, and many of our vendors earn their living from farmers’ market sales. Disruptions caused by groups or individuals negatively impact our farmers' ability to earn a living and thrive, and the ability of our community to enjoy a shared space. We ask anyone attending our farmers’ market to not engage with groups or individuals creating a negative experience for anyone at the market. The attention groups like this receive only encourages their negative impact on our family farmers and small business owners. NCGA is a membership based organization of a diverse group of people with a variety of beliefs. We hope that all demonstrators, non-profit tablers, and customers help us cultivate a community event where everyone’s voice can be heard in a respectful manner. For questions regarding this policy, please contact [email protected]. |
