Currently seeking Volunteers!
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the North Coast Growers’ Association (NCGA)! Volunteering at the farmers' market is a great way to give back to your community while helping to support small-scale agriculture and strengthen our local food system.
Our non-profit, membership-based organization, has been managing farmers’ markets in Humboldt County for over 40 years. Our small staff is committed to the health and financial security of our small family farmers. Every season we strive for continual improvement in our market operations as the local community, economy, environment, and farmers grow and adjust with the times. Our volunteers help make the work we do possible!
Farmers’ Market Volunteer Assistant
This position is available year-round at the Arcata Farmers' Market, and seasonally at these market sites:
Farmers' market assistants help exchange CalFresh (EBT) dollars for wooden tokens and help with various other market tasks like set-up, break-down and special events. We are also seeking volunteers for our Harvest Box and Ag Programs! See more information in the volunteer application below. Fill out the form below to be added to our volunteer directory. Questions? Farm Work Opportunities
Are you interested in working on a farm?
Our members have a variety of needs, from full time to part time and full year to seasonal, but most positions are physically demanding. If you are looking for farm work, you can visit farmers' markets and speak to farmers directly to ask if they have opportunities. Alternately, you can fill out this form and we will share it with farmers when they are looking for additional help.
