A lot goes on behind the scenes to make your local farmers’ markets happen. Some of you might see our novel farmers’ market vehicles driving around from time to time. Things go smoothly most of the time, but every now and then, the vehicles break down, and our market team jumps into action to make things work. However, we’re currently facing a significant challenge. Our beloved market truck, which is essential for operating your favorite Farmers’ Markets, finally broke down beyond repair.
This vehicle is crucial for transporting all necessary market supplies. We need a reliable vehicle to maintain the vibrant and thriving markets our community loves and depends on! NCGA’s historical reliance on older, used vehicles to power the needs of our markets has incurred higher maintenance costs and unreliability.
Support Local Food Access:
To keep our markets running smoothly and ensure that fresh, local food remains accessible to everyone, we urgently need a new vehicle. This fundraiser supports the purchase of the very first NEW vehicle for our farmers' markets in hopes that the vehicle will last a very long time, limit higher maintenance costs, and ensure reliability. This vehicle will be used for multiple weekly markets.
