Landseeker: Seeking ~1 to 5 acres within ~15 miles of Eureka.

What features of the property are essential?
I am interested in any microclimate for rotational grazing; this could be inland with higher seasonal temps, but I am also okay with coastal rain, wind, and temperatures. I would need grasslands/pasture land for sure!

Describe your farming experience.
I have 4 years farming experience and off and on experience with rotational grazing volunteer/educational work. I have experience with organic, no-till farming of flowers and garlic, as well as organic vegetable farming. I have animal care experience as well, including goats and sheep. I also have completed the Climate Resiliency Farmer program through the NCGA and the College of the Redwoods.

Are you currently farming?
Yes, I work for two local farms.

What are your short term goals for the land?

I do not have a business plan created as of yet, but I do have a budget created for initial starting purchases. I was just hoping to find someone (or multiple people) who are interested in having sheep graze on their land (in various areas), preferably 1-4 acres, where I could move them every 2-3 days in a rotational grazing pattern using paddocks of electric fences. The idea is sort of a community grazing project, to increase healthy soil benefits. See here: https://fibershed.org/programs/climate-beneficial-agriculture/community-grazing-cooperatives/. If folks aren't interested in a community/cooperative type of grazing project, I would still be interested in utilizing land for a flock of sheep for rotational grazing. I am interested in producing fiber from the sheep, which I will shear and have processed into roving, batting, etc. This is definitely a small-scale passion/interest and not a full-fledged business interest.
