Are you a farmer who is interested in how to participate in the Harvest Hub?
Welcome! Feel free to email Megan Kenney, the Harvest Hub Director, with any questions about Harvest Hub

What is Harvest Hub?
We are a food hub, operated by NCGA, whose mission is to support reliable, stable markets for local food producers, helping to make the North Coast region’s food system stronger and more resilient.
Harvest Hub buys wholesale from farmers; everything we purchase is in full cases and is purchased at a lower rate than your direct sale/farmers' market rate. This is because we take care of everything (other than the actual farming) for you: we communicate with buyers, aggregate orders, receive and store your products, and then sort and distribute directly to customers throughout Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity Counties.
Is wholesale right for you? Every farm is at a different point of their journey, so have different inputs and needs for sales. If you need a higher price point for your items, wholesale might not be right for you at this time. Many of our farmers employ a mix of wholesale and direct sale in their businesses; this allows for less uncertainty if you miss a rainy farmers' market or lose a primary wholesale buyer.
How does it work?
You fill in your weekly availability any time before Mondays at 3pm (ordering is open every Monday at 3pm-Wednesday at 9am for our buyers). Buyers will place their orders by Wednesday morning, at which time a Pick List will get sent to you (Pick Lists show you everything that has been ordered that week).
You deliver your items AND complete invoice (list of all items, quantities, and prices of what you deliver) to the Harvest Hub on Thursday or Friday (weekend delivery available upon request), and we take care of the rest! We will sort and store your items, pay you within 15 days of receiving your invoice, deliver to buyers, and track and collect payments from vendors.
How do I get started?
All of the producers who sell through Harvest Hub must become an NCGA member. If you do not participate in farmers' markets, you can join as a Harvest Hub Member for $75 per year. If you are already a voting NCGA member who participates in farmers' markets, your Hub membership is included in your dues.
All producers must complete and submit the Harvest Hub Orientation Packet. This packet collects basic farm information for your profile, provides us with a list of products you intend to sell (you can always add or remove products at any time), and gives an overview of our expectations of our growers.
All producers must complete and submit a Food Safety Plan. Since we are representing a variety of farms, we need to make sure that all products that we sell are held to the same, high standard. We work with schools and other vulnerable populations, so please help us ensure the safety of our community by providing accurate data in your plan.
